gold coast
This guide focuses on both the Gold Coast region and the Northern Rivers district. As a city, the Gold Coast continues to grow into a truly cosmopolitan place. For brides and grooms, this is wonderful news, especially those looking for a relaxed yet stylish wedding.

Bridal fashion designers in the region are now internationally recognised for their innovation and creativity so brides and grooms can confidently shop right here at home knowing the designs they are choosing are blitzing the catwalks of Paris, London and New York - traditionally recognised as the fashion capitals of the world. In addition, the Gold Coast’s beautiful climate and the natural beauty of the beaches, parks and gardens provide wonderful locations for ceremonies, photographs and receptions. The Northern Rivers district provides equally enticing places to host the perfect wedding. They offer the exceptional beaches or rocky headlands around Ballina for relaxed styled weddings as well as the up-market and artistic flavour unique to Byron Bay and Lennox Heads regions. The Gold Coast and Northern Rivers region caters for all tastes and styles to ensure your day is exactly the way you want. It continues to be popular as a wedding location primarily for the wide variety of services available. Choose your style from the prestige of the Gold Coast to the informality and natural beauty of the Northern Rivers and hinterland areas.
If you are planning an outdoor garden ceremony you may be lucky and have your own beautiful garden or know someone who is willing to host your wedding. Otherwise there are a number of public parks and gardens, each with their own special character, to choose from in the region. If you have or are thinking about choosing a public garden, such as McIntosh Island or Cascade Gardens, you will need to advise the local council up to three months in advance to avoid conflicting venue arrangements. You will also need to arrange for any permits which may be necessary. The Council parks have designated sites that may be booked (sometimes for a fee). To marry in any of the parks, you must write a letter of request to Gold Coast Council at PO Box 5042, GCMC 9729. See our outdoor weddings section for more information. |
